Some entry doors deserve to be seen. This Calgary home has a rich red entry with decorative glasswork — and no storm door protecting it. The goal was simple: add the protection without hiding the door behind it.
Why full-view
A full-view storm door is a single expanse of glass — no mid-rail cutting the entry door in half. It shields the entry from sun, rain and winter, adds a sealed layer of insulation at the doorway, and lets the door behind it stay the star. For an entry with decorative glass like this one, it's the right call.
The install
The Andersen 3000 was fitted to the opening, hung plumb so the closer pulls it shut evenly, and sealed around the frame. Hardware was chosen to sit comfortably alongside the entry's existing hardware. The result reads less like an addition and more like the entry was always meant to look this way.
